The deposit system, strategic raw materials, the packaging directive - these are just some of the topics that will be discussed at POLECO 2024. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in inspiring conferences, which will discuss, among other things, the low-emission transition, plastics recycling and the challenges of circular waste management. We invite you to learn about the innovative solutions that are shaping the future of our industry and the Polish economy.

On 15-17 October, POLECO International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection will be held on the premises of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie, bringing together leaders in the field of sustainable development, closed-loop economy (GOZ), municipal management and the latest technological solutions supporting environmental protection. In addition to a rich exhibition, visitors to the fair will have the opportunity to take part in a series of conferences devoted to key challenges and trends in environmental protection and raw materials management.

Circular Economy Summit

At the Circular Economy Summit, attendees will explore low-carbon transition issues that link to energy security and green-blue infrastructure. Panel discussions will cover topics such as low-carbon transport zones, the process of urban decarbonisation and the role of small and large-scale water retention. Key topics will also include Industry 4.0, particularly in the battery and automotive sectors, the new WSR Regulation on transboundary movements of waste and the regulation of critical and strategic raw materials.

Additionally, the new Packaging Directive, packaging recycling levels and the challenges of introducing a deposit system in Poland will be discussed. Experts will answer questions on the readiness to implement this system.

Good practices in waste management

The impact of the closed-loop economy transition on ESG indicators and the topic of raw material safety, including conditions for the recovery of critical raw materials in Poland, will be among the issues discussed during the conference ‘Good practices in waste management. Let's talk about ... vol. 3'. The programme also includes sessions on systemic key solutions for GOZ and issues related to circular waste management in the tyre recycling industry.

Environmental protection in practice

This conference will discuss the environmental impact assessment of waste treatment facilities, including recovery, recycling and disposal. Participants will also look at the issue of concentrations of hormones and antibiotics in the environment, which can be of great importance to ecosystems. Another important topic will be the use of biogas (biomethane) in gas networks, refrigeration and greenhouse production.

Vehicle recycling in a nutshell

Dismantling of electric vehicles, dismantling techniques, economic morphology of an end-of-life vehicle are selected topics of the conference ‘Vehicle recycling in a nutshell’. The legal environment for the recycling of end-of-life vehicles will also be discussed. The conference will conclude with a debate during which industry specialists will try to answer the question - where are we heading.

Fire safety and environmental protection

At this event, experts will discuss how to behave in fire emergencies and in cases of carbon monoxide emissions. Solutions for environmental protection in the context of safety will also be presented.

Product in circulation’ competition under way

The Ministry of Climate and Environment is looking for innovations that close the circulation of resources in the economy. ‘Product in Circulation’ is a competition by the Ministry of Climate and Environment to identify innovative solutions that close the resource cycle by, among other things, helping to reduce waste generation. There are several categories, but the theme is one - the closed loop economy. The best projects will be presented at an exhibition during POLECO International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection on 15-17.10.2024 in Poznań.

The competition can be entered for a physical product or its design, a service and a business model that fits into an economic system that minimises waste and maximises resource efficiency by keeping products and materials in circulation for as long as possible. These can include production and consumption models that promote sharing, renting, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling of materials and products. Submissions are accepted until 20.09.2024.

The project of the Ministry of Climate and Environment aims to raise environmental awareness, inspire and encourage the public to take action to protect the environment and climate. The competition is financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

We would like to invite you to participate in the trade fair, conferences and visit the exhibition of the winners of the ‘Product in Circulation’ competition. The POLECO trade fair will provide an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge, exchange experiences and establish valuable business contacts.
