In autumn, 3 important events for the urban management and maintenance sector will take place almost simultaneously at MTP: the European Local Government Forum Local Trends, the POLECO Fair and the GARDENIA Fair. Each of them will address the subject of urban resource management from a slightly different perspective, making them a complementary platform for information, knowledge, the best offers, state-of-the-art technologies and a basis for establishing strategic relations between the city and the resident, the city and business and business and business.

14-15 October - European Local Government Forum Local Trends


Participants at the event include representatives of local governments, city and town mayors and managers of municipal companies. Representatives of administration, business and academia also attend. Thematic areas include issues such as local budgets in the face of multicrisis, municipal economy, adapting cities to climate change, climate education, green urban transformation or spatial governance. The European Self-Government Forum addresses key topics and challenges of Polish local governments in terms of vision and strategic planning, identifying trends, opportunities and barriers to development. It creates an exchange of views and opinions on local government development scenarios and shapes good practices in managing the city and its socio-economic ecosystem.

 

15-17 October - POLECO Trade Fair


POLECO International Trade Fair for Environmental Protection is the most important conference and exhibition event for the climate protection, environment, municipal management and sustainable development sectors. The event will cover a wide range of topics, such as recycling, closed-loop economy and energy efficiency, which are crucial for the municipal industry. Complementing the exhibition offer will be conferences, lectures, talks and expert debates, which will comprehensively discuss the most topical issues. Polish and foreign companies will present machines, equipment and technologies for waste management, municipal technology, recycling and maintaining cleanliness and order in public spaces. There will also be no shortage of solutions using technologies for revitalisation, reclamation and adaptation to climate change. Particularly noteworthy will be the Circular Economy Summit, a 3-day discussion on pro-environmental issues in an urban context, including: clean air, climate change adaptation, the Green-Blue Transformation Support System for CUs, WaterWiseEU, good practices in revegetation and retention.

 

16-18 October - GARDENIA Trade Fair


The GARDENIA Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Fair is aimed at a professional audience from all sectors of horticulture. The scope of the trade fair will include: wide range of plant products: new varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers that are resistant to disease, drought and difficult conditions, yet easy to maintain. The extensive programme will be aimed at managers and designers of green spaces and urban infrastructure. Companies planning and maintaining plant spaces, urban greenery managers, municipal plants, urban gardeners, local government employees, decision-makers in educational institutions, architects, investors and contractors in green areas and urban investments, employees of Road and Greenery Management Boards and scientific staff are invited in particular to a certified arborist training course and the 18th edition of Urban Garden Art. The theme of this year's Forum will be ‘Focus on green’. Such an excellent synergy of events aimed at the municipal sector and local authorities is a unique opportunity to develop fully informed and comprehensive measures in urban space. Direct contact not only with representatives of local authorities, production companies or experts, but also with representatives of other urban centres (from Poland and Europe) and associations keen to promote the latest knowledge and best practices.
